For thousands of years of history man has been living on the Costa del Sol. Neanderthal Men used to live in the caves and open space near the mouth of rivers in Axarquia and in the cave complexes near Malaga. During the Bronze Age the population spread to all parts of Coast.
Naturally beautiful coastlines, mildest weather in Europe and abundance of golden sandy beaches have been attracting people on Costa del Sol ever since the old ages. In the period when Romans were ruling the Spain, Malaga became an important colony which led the Romanization of the surrounding lands.
During the 4th century AD Christianity was spreading throughout the country and the Costa del Sol region. During the 8th century Arabs ruled much part of the Spain and much progress was made during the years of Islamic rule. They brought many changes in field of art, architecture and agriculture.
